Chapter 6
"I want to look around a little more. We've got to think of a way to stop that skeleton girl," Paul said.
They stood up and walked around the huge cave to look at the eggs. They found many groups of eggs with lots of different shapes and colors.
"Have you thought of a way to stop that skeleton girl?" William asked.
"W...We could take the egg from her."
"But what would she do to us?"
"I don't know."
"Do you think she could kill us or turn us into a skeleton?"
"I...I don't know."
"W...We've go shovels. We could hit her with those."
"Ye...Yeah, we could try! She can't run fast so she can't catch us. I don't think she can hear us and I know she can't see us. We should just try to catch up with her and see what she's going to do with that egg."
"Let's go then. She can't be that far ahead of us."
The boys ran to their bikes, got on and rode back through the tunnel.
Now they were going back up the hill and it was kind of hard though the hill wasn't very steep.
"Where do you think that snowman is?" William asked.
"I don't want to think about that, William. It sounds too scary."
William didn't say anymore about the snowman as they rode up the long, dark hill. It was quiet except for the sound of their bike tires and their breathing. It was eerie, but the boys didn't want to talk about that to keep their nerve because they were both a little afraid.
"How does she walk in the dark up this hill?" Paul asked.
"I just don't know," William said. "Maybe she just knows where to go because she's been down here and all those other places before she became a skeleton."
"I think you're right."
"I also think she can feel people walking like snakes do. They can't here or see very well."
"I never thought about that."
They continued riding up the hill but, suddenly had to stop fast. There were a pile of rocks ahead of them that blocked the way almost completely.
"Whoa, do you think that skeleton girl put those rocks there?" Paul asked.
"I...I don't know, but I think we can move some of them so we can get by."
